Mezun Group’s history starts in 1999 on the campus of the University of Baltimore when then international students pursuing an MBA degree, Ali C. Hantal and Dogan Dogan and two other friends realized that there was a major need to provide information to other young Turkish students back home about education opportunities in the USA. Within a few months the first version of the site was released.

Mezun is Turkey’s first vertical thematic portal providing information on studying abroad. The first version of the site was what we would call today a blog. However at that time the term blog or notion of it did not yet exist. This would be the first of many firsts that the company’s executives would achieve.


When first launched, the portal focused on undergraduate studies in the USA. However, over the course of its 18 year history Mezun has added hundreds of thousands of pages to the site, several additional platforms and now incorporates information on studying in 10+ countries at language institutes, community colleges, technical and agricultural colleges, universities, and advanced degrees. Mezun has expanded into the largest online platform dedicated to offering equal access to a quality international education to students in Turkey, the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa.

In 2012, was launched, providing information in eight languages to international students interested in studying in Turkey. That same year, GoStudyinTurkey was selected as the strategic solutions partner of Higher Education Business Council, the official ’Study in Turkey’ organization which is a part of Foreign Economic Relations Board under the Turkish Ministry of Economy.

In early 2014 Mezun entered into the offline marketing and recruitment realm with its first On-The-Ground-Event for Community Colleges. Since then Mezun has converted their events into large Student Recruitment fairs, Agency Workshops, and Exclusive Receptions. In 2016 the Virtual/Physical Hybrid Recruitment Event concept was introduced by Mezun, with the very first virtual student recruitment fair of Turkey, organized in partnership with U.S. Commercial Service and Education USA. Since then all Mezun recruitment events are organized in this unique hybrid format., was launched in 2015 as the world’s first vertical international education web TV with several web series of entire episodes and video clips. Mezun TV continues to publish informative content for Turkish students and international educators alike in an easily digestible format.

In 2016, MezunVR brand was launched, as the ‘education sector exclusive partner’ of Virtual Reality Master, the most recent venture of Ali C. Hantal. MezunVR offers Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Tools for Recruitment of Students, and is the only brand in the world that specializes exclusively in educational institutions.

From our history: was launched in 2004 in partnership with Digiturk, Turkey’s largest cable company who has been broadcasting the Turkish soccer league for over 10 years. It became the first company to stream the Turkish soccer league games live on the Internet.
Launched in 2003, it was the first online florist site of Turkey for ethnic Turkish people living abroad.
