Turkey’s First Virtual Student Recruitment Fair

The US Embassy, Education USA and Fulbright Commission collaborated for the first time in Turkey to bring to life the very first virtual student recruitment fair. Mezun Group and ISE World organized the fair which took place on December 10th, 2016, simultaneously in four cities: Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Adana.

The fair program began with two presentations: “U.S.A Student Visas and Summer Work and Travel Program” by consuls from the US Consulate General in Istanbul and “Education in the U.S.A. and Fulbright Scholarships” by the Education USA / Fulbright Commission officials. The presentations were followed by a comprehensive Q&A session.

The program continued by the ribbon cutting ceremony at the entrance of the actual fair venue:

At Ankara venue (TED University) by USA Deputy Chief of Misson Philip Kosnett, TED President Selçuk Pehlivanoğlu, Education USA Regional Educational Advising Coordinator (REAC) for Southern Europe Cheryl Francisconi and Mezun Group President Dogan Dogan

At İstanbul venue (Bahçeşehir University) by Consul General Jennifer Davis, Bahçesehir University Rector Şenay Yalçın, ISE World General Manager Gokyar Karsit and Mezun Group CEO Ali Hantal

At İzmir venue (Yaşar University) by U.S. Commercial Service, Senior Commercial Specialist Berrin Öztürk, Yaşar University Vice Rector Ali Nazım Sözer and Fethi Karsit from ISF Fairs

At Adana venue (Gündoğdu College) by U.S. Adana Consul Linda Stuart Specht, Gündoğdu Holding Chairman Gökhan Gündoğdu and Alp Yegul from ISF Fairs

After opening remarks, students, along with their parents, held one-on-one video conference meetings with university representatives. University representatives attended the fair through online video connection on their dedicated tables, while students and their families were physically present at the fair venue.
